About DTI
We work in national backbones, NOCs, regional backbones, headends, VoIP COs, hubs, outside plant, labs and other network locations. Engineering and EF&I are only two of our many services. Out expertise includes a wide range of equipment, vendors, technologies and applications.
Hubs
Our hub projects focus on upgrades, rebuilds, optimization, expansion, convergence, and the overall validation testing and re-engineering required to deploy new services. These projects are driven by acquisitions, subscriber growth, regional backbone convergence architectures, and rollouts of VoIP, VoD, SDV and HDTV, and increases in HSD bandwidth.
Regional Backbones
DTI specializes in the engineering and deployment of regional backbone networks, especially in their convergence with respect to data, video and voice. The challenges of converged regional backbones go beyond overall throughput and resiliency. Rather, challenges come from the combined requirements Of high speed data, many forms of video—from conventional broadcast, to HDTV, to VoD — and voice.
Data and Media Centers
In data and media centers, DTI provides engineering and deployment expertise, as well as documentation and training, for data transport and routing, security, and applications. In data centers, DTI installs and configures systems that provision customers and their endpoint devices, including the STBs, MTAs, and eMTAs which are essential to delivering video, HSD and voice services.
Headends
DTI provides a wide range of headend engineering, EF&I, turn-up and test, and deployment services. DTI’s expertise in IP, optical transport, voice, HSD, and video, makes us the ideal partner for headend optimizations, rebuilds, upgrades, expansions, and for the launch of new services.
Core
We provide expertise at all layers of national backbone networks. At the lower layers of the OSI stack, DTI provides engineering and deployment services for DWDM optical transport.
VoIP
DTI provides engineering, deployment and project management services for VoIP in COs, labs and the HFC inside and outside plant(s). DTI project manages one of the largest VoIP deployments in the US. This deployment includes a dozen-plus softswitches and dozens of gateways from multiple vendors.
